A charming, energetic boy with a ready smile, KRISTOPHER (10/97) is outgoing and enjoys engaging in conversation or telling a story. A favorite family activity is camping. He also enjoys creating artwork, playing video games, and watching TV. An all-time favorite physical activity is romping and jumping on the trampoline.

Kristopher has a great sense of humor and can find the humor in just about everything. He has a generally happy disposition, and when he smiles his whole face lights up. Kristopher is very attractive with blond hair and big blue eyes and a toothy grin. He also enjoys very good health.

Kristopher is intelligent and gets good grades in school. In the fall of 2008, he will be in fifth grade. While he doesn’t much like doing math, he loves writing stories. He has no behavioral issues at school or in the classroom.

He is very social and gets along well with adults and children of all ages, and is appropriate with animals. He tries really hard to please adults, and offers to do chores and asks for directions. It is expected that he will be able to form health attachments with his new parent(s).

Kristopher, who was placed in foster care in July 2006, is benefiting from participation in therapy. The focus of his therapy is on helping him sort through his feelings and deal with the loss of his family and the changes in his life. Kristopher also takes medications to help to lessen feelings of sadness and to manage his symptoms of attention difficulties and high energy. Kristopher has settled in very nicely with his current foster family, where he has been living since early March.

Kristopher is close to two siblings, a brother and a sister. Kristopher currently visits his sister in her permanent home, which has helped to strengthen their sibling bond. While not in contact with his brother right now, Kristopher will be counting on his adoptive folk(s) to help him maintain the strong relationship that the boys have had.

It would be wonderful for Kristopher’s adoptive parents to participate with him in family counseling during the adoption transition. They will also need to be supportive of his individual counseling on an as-needed basis in the months to come as he continues to sort through and deal with issues of grief, loss, and past trauma. Kristopher is a wonderful, intelligent boy who will thrive in the attention and affection of a family who will accept and love him unconditionally!
