Legally free, JAYSIN (7/97) is a delightful preteen who is developing an interest in grooming and being nicely dressed. She has a good imagination and is able to entertain herself quite easily. For the 2008-2009 school year, Jaysin is in a sixth-grade mainstream program.

Jaysin came into foster care in April 2005. Until recently, she was being featured with her younger brother, who is being adopted by his foster family. The siblings will be counting on their respective permanent families to help them stay in touch as they are growing up.

While not in counseling at this time, Jaysin needs support in dealing with her fears about the future and what is going to happen to her, as well as sorting through and dealing with residual effects of past trauma and feelings of grief, loss, anger, and abandonment. She also needs support in developing new ways of coping with the changes in her life.

Her worker is intending to reconnect Jaysin soon with a mental health counselor. In addition, it would be wonderful for Jaysin to have adoptive folk(s) willing to participate with her in family counseling during her transition into their home. It could be a meaningful way for her new parent(s) to show their love for her and their commitment to having her as part of their family.

Jaysin would like to have an active mom-and-dad family. She needs a family that will allow her to grieve the loss of their birth family while helping her to move forwards in her life. Jaysin looks forward to have parents who will value her and provide the nurturing, love, and guidance she longs to have. “And this time around, she would like to be the youngest child in the family.”
