Meet KALEIA (7/95) and KEIAUNA (9/98)! A fun and funky sibling group that would be a joyful addition to any family, these girls want a loving, caring, supportive family that will give them permanency and help them grow into the great women they are capable of being. While the girls have been through a lot of disappointments, they are still optomistic about their futures.

At 13, Kaleia is a tall, quirky, fun, young teen with a dusty blonde hair, quizzical blue eyes, freckles, and a great smile, especially when she is involved in something goofy. She is often quiet and reserved but really is just looking for the right people to open up to. Kaleia loves to play sports, take care of animals, or just hang out with someone who understands her. She has a great sense of humor and loves to be involved in a good joke. Kaleia wants her new family to know that she loves food – she loves cooking, eating, and trying everything. Now in seventh grade, she says she enjoys school and is committed to being a good student to the best of her abilities. An individual education plan is providing support to help her catch up to grade level. While reading and social studies are difficult, she likes math and enjoys helping others.

Kaleia is working on developing effective coping tools and strategies and improving her sibling interactions with her sister.

Keiauna is an energetic, sparkling 10-year old with dusty blonde hair and freckles; she has one blue eye and one brown eye. Keiauna is small for her age but has a big personality. Nicknamed Tinkerbell for her mischevious nature, she’s always on the go. Keiauna seems always to be happy. While she can be a bit of a tomboy horsing around and rough housing, she also loves playing with dolls and Barbies. Keiauna enjoys being the center of attention and lets everyone know it. Her favorite food is Pringles potato chips. She loves them so much she asked for six cans for one of her Christmas presents this year. Keiauna excels in school and often gets straight A’s. Her favorite subjects are reading and math.

Keiauna, who enjoys good physical health, is working on is working on having a better relationship with her sister, instead of trying to annoy her sister like younger siblings do. It is important to know that she is very sensitive to conflict in the home and to being reprimanded.

Kaleia and Keiauna have recently reconnected with their older biological brothers. This is an important relationship for the girls and the boys. They will be counting on their adoptive folks to help them continue to have contact as they are growing up with their brothers. The girls also have interest in continuing to have a relationship with their birth mother.

Kaleia and Keiauna need to have adoptive folks who will appreciate their unique personalities and strengths. Because of the multiple placements the girls have had over the years, their new parent(s) will have to show patience, sensitivity, and problem solving.

The girls are bonded but do have significant differences and are prone to arguing with one another. Their new family will need to help them work on this. In the right family these girls will provide years of love, caring, fun and, most of all, humor. Kaleia and Keiauna have expressed interest in a family that has other children. They both love animals and would love a family that has a farm, or at Keiauna's request, a monkey. The girls are not yet legally free.
