LINDSEY (9/93), who is legally free for adoption, wants to tell you a bit about herself.

"Hi. I'm Lindsey. There are so many things I love to do, and so many that I still want to do! I love to read and to spend time at the library. Twilight is my favorite series. I also like to spend time at the pound and play with the puppies and kittens. I love animals! I want to be a Vet when I grow up, and to go to Africa to work with animals, and maybe even start a zoo there. Right now I have lots of pets; 7 horses, a dog, five cats, and a goose. I want a family that lives in the country so we can have animals.

I like to be outdoors and want a family that enjoys camping, fishing, and hunting. But I also like to be pampered, and I have always wanted to spend the whole day at a spa. Something else I enjoy doing is writing poetry and writing in a journal. Writing comes easily for me, and it helps me get my feelings out.

I'm looking for a nurturing, loving, and comforting family who will also let me stay in touch with my birth family like my aunt and uncle, grandpa, and siblings."

Lindsey's enthusiasm for life is contagious. She has many aspirations and dreams. She has an adventurous spirit and says she wants to ride in a helicopter some day, and maybe even jump out of one! She likes to play volleyball and basketball, and to watch movies and play games, such as Boggle and Scrabble. Lindsey is generally happy and able to enjoy life. She does struggle at times with sadness from the grief of loosing important people in her life. Her adoption worker states that Lindsey is making progress with the help of therapeutic support to help her deal with traumatic life events, stress, and identity and behavior issues. She has suffered multiple transitions in the last few years and needs a family who can commit to her and hang in there with her as she continues to work through some of these issues.

The adoption team will also be looking for a two-parent family, with or without other children, who has a family safety plan in place and are committed to providing the time and supervision needed to enforce it. They will also need to be skilled in working with children who struggle with attention getting behavior, impulsiveness, and poor boundaries, and who need academic support through an IEP.

If you are a family that is strong in love, nurturing, commitment, dedication and fortitude, you may be just what this lovely young lady needs to help her realize her dreams for a family and bright future.
