CONRAD (6/01) and JENSINA (2/03) are two bright and energetic children who need consistent structure with a caring and loving family. The children love to please and will flourish with attentive parents and a predictable routine. Two years apart in age, Conrad and Jensina are half siblings; they are both attractive children with brown hair and hazel eyes. They enjoy good physical health and are on track developmentally. Conrad does very well in the classroom setting. Jensina made significant progress in kindergarten last year and is expected to do well in first grade in the fall. Legally free, Conrad and Jensina came into care on May 2007.

Conrad is a very intelligent, caring young boy with a great smile and a fun-loving disposition. He has a vivid imagination which is apparent in his play. He is very active and loves to play. Conrad engages well with kids and adults alike and definitely enjoys attention from the adults and other children around him. Conrad enjoys movies, computers, and playing with Tonka toys. He also enjoys family related activities such as picnics and barbeques. He loves being outdoors whether its riding his bike, playing tag, or splashing in the water.

Jensina is a fun-loving girl who loves having a lot of adult attention. She has a fabulous smile and lots of energy. She enjoys board games, coloring, drawing pictures, and playing with her dolls and playing dress up. Jensina is a real people person and readily engages other children to join in games and playtime. Jensina also enjoys expressing herself through painting and talking to people who are willing to listen. Other items on her likes list include watching DVDs and playing with animals. Jensina will stay away from children who have been mean to her in the past.

Conrad has been through many changes and transitions over the last two years, and he continues to benefit from having weekly therapeutic supports in place that encourage him to talk about his feelings and thoughts. Socially, Conrad has made strides in his peer relations, although he still likes to have a sense of control of his environment.

Jensina has made significant progress in regards to getting along with others, and she continues to work on strengtheing her boundaries.

Being willing to participate in family counseling with the children during their transition into their new home would be a wonderful way for their adoptive parent(s) to show their love and commitment to Conrad and Jensina. It would also demonstrate to the chidlren that their adoptive folks value using such resources to help family members deal with past hurts and to grow emotionally and behaviorally. Both children will likely need to have therapeutic supports in place for the foreseeable future.

The current foster care providers are committed to helping make the transition into an adoptive home an optomistic reality for Conrad and Jensina.

The ideal family would have two parents, and if there are children, they would be older than Conrad and Jensina. While animals can be an issue with Jensina, she does well with adult cats and dogs. Parents who are patient, fun loving, and consistent, and who can provide the structure and redirection that the children do well will find many rewards in parenting this adorable duo. The children’s birth mother may be interested in post adoption mediation with the adoptive family.
