JOSHUA (3/01) is a loveable young man with a big heart. He loves reading, riding his bike, and especially enjoys watching his favorite movie, “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Josh loves having one-on-one attention from adults. He enjoys playing with other children and making new friends. Josh, who came into foster care in November 2005, is not yet legally free.

Josh has big brown eyes and short light brown hair that he will spike up with gel on special occasions. He has a fair complexion with freckles on his nose and under his eyes. Josh has a good sense of humor and gets a cute, sly grin on his face when he jokes around.

Josh is very bright and has the ability to read above his grade level. Josh, who has a slow and deliberate way of talking, has made significant gains in increasing his speech and language abilities; and he continues to make important progress. Josh is currently engaged in individual and group work which is centered on increasing his self-confidence and being willing to talk about his feelings and thoughts. He is also working on strengthening his personal boundaries. Josh responds well to redirection.

Sometimes Josh may feel a bit overwhelmed when in crowded or busy environments. At such times, he will want to go and sit by himself to give himself a change to get calm and regroup.

Josh is a child who has experienced significant instability throughout his life and needs committed adoptive parents who will make sure that he has a supportive, stable, nurturing environment and strong advocacy. Josh is a delightful young man who has enchanted all of the people in his life. He will undoubtedly captivate his new family as soon as he comes home.
