Youth-Led Permanency Consultation

Our Youth-Led Permanency Consultation program aims to help you expand your opportunities for youth and caseworker connection, while giving youth the opportunity to engage in their own permanency planning.

We’ll help you create a short, fun, and engaging video that can also be added to your online family profile. Your video will be shared directly with youth ages 12 and up and caseworkers—helping them get to know you and identify possible matches.

Who can participate?

  • Washington State caseworkers and youth who are interested in exploring permanency options.

How it works

  1. Fill out the online registration form. We’ll reach out to confirm your registration and learn more about your family.
  2. Next, we’ll meet with you over Zoom to create your family video and share more information about who the youth in foster care are and the ways you can prepare to bring a youth into your home.
  3. Then, youth will review your family profile in one-on-one sessions with a member of our team. Upon request, your video can be added to your NWAE profile and made available to caseworkers.
  4. We’ll keep you informed about who has reviewed your video and see if you want to move forward with learning more about any of those interested youth.
  5. Finally, you’ll have a chance to meet with caseworkers of the identified youth to find out more about them and see if you’d like to continue the conversation.
