About family accounts

Access additional support and resources with your Northwest Adoption Exchange account.

If you have a foster parent license or have completed a home study in Washington state, you can access even more with an account on Northwest Adoption Exchange. Once completed, you’ll have access to all our services:

• Additional youth profiles on our photolisting site.
• A family profile on our password-protected site to be viewed by caseworkers.
• A family video for youth to view, if you are interested in providing permanency for youth ages 12 and up.
• Adoption Consortium (virtual and bi-monthly) to hear more about the youth on our site and present your family to caseworkers.
• Ability to submit updates to your profile to ensure accurate details for caseworkers to view.

Get started

To create an account with Northwest Adoption Exchange, you will need a foster parent license or to have completed a home study in Washington state. Learn more about the adoption from foster care process.

Registering for a family account is a two-step process. Being approved for your account may take approximately 10 business days, depending on how quickly we get your information.

Step 1: Fill out the short application linked below. We’ll then verify your foster care license or home study with your caseworker or licensor.

Step 2: Once we have verified your license or home study, we’ll email you a link to the family profile form to complete. Check out our family profile tips to help as you think about what you’d like on your profile. You’ll also need to upload 3-5 good quality photos of your family (no more than 5 please!), including at least one that is a close-up, portrait style photo.

Once you’ve submitted the family profile form, we’ll publish your profile for DCYF caseworkers to see. You’ll receive a confirmation email from us with a link to activate your account and create a password.
