Meet Kayto and Octavian "Auggie"

Does your active family enjoy playing outside, camping, running, and climbing? Afterwards do you like snuggling up with a good book? Kayto and Octavian “Auggie” are looking for a family who can enjoy all those things and help them experience so much more.

Sociable and outgoing, Kayto is friendly to everyone he meets. He makes friends easily and at times will share toys with others. He can be compassionate and caring and enjoys cuddles on the couch. He is easily entertained and easy to make laugh which is a joy to be around.

Kayto doesn’t like to sit still for too long. He’s a very active, on-the-go kid! Families who can ensure his safety and keep up with him are in his best interest. He is also a very curious person and interested in trying new activities and playing with new toys. Kayto is very musically inclined and loves dancing, drumming, strumming, and playing on the piano. He also loves to roll cars around.

One of Kayto’s first unprompted words was "moon"; he loves identifying the moon full or partial in pictures, real life, or even abstract suggestions of moon shapes.

While Kayto does well with transitions and being in daycare, extra supports around his sensory needs help him succeed. Teething or chew toys help Kayto feel regulated. Kayto has been making improvements in his fine motor skills, and does well with supports and daily supportive services to help him improve those skills.

Active and always ready for an adventure, like his brother, Auggie loves running, playing, climbing, and exploring his surroundings. He is friendly and curious and enjoys being around animals and friends. Like his brother, families who can provide close supervision when he’s out and about.

Auggie loves spotting planes in the sky and pointing to them. He’s a big fan of listening to music, especially nursery rhymes.

Auggie has been learning to communicate some with sign language and has been working hard on his communication skills. Auggie would benefit from families who can help him adjust and deal with change and transitions. Auggie benefits from weekly supportive services that help him continue to develop and work on his communication skills.

Kayto and Auggie will do well with families willing to help them bond and continue to grow together. They have important paternal biological connections in their lives that are interested in staying connected with the siblings, including potentially their birth father, and their current and former resource parents. They also have some tribal connections that will be important to maintain and nurture.

Kayto and Auggie’s team are looking forward to hearing from families who are willing to help answer the siblings’ questions about their heritage and birth family as they grow up, and meet the boys with compassion and a trauma-informed approach.

Can you see these active, curious siblings in your family? Please reach out to us. We’re excited to find Kayto and Auggie the supportive, understanding adoptive family that they deserve.
