Meet Mari

“Family, friends, and love mean everything to me”. ~Mari

Mari (pronounced Mary) is ready to be adopted! They are looking forward to finally having a permanent family.

When asked to describe themselves, Mari chose the words “nice, helpful, friendly, and ‘different in a good way.’” Mari’s caregivers agree, and also describe them as being caring, creative, expressive, and impressively self-aware. Mari takes pride in being unique and being true to themselves. They have big energy, a great imagination, and an incredibly likable personality!

In their free time, Mari enjoys spending time both indoors and outdoors but considers themself "indoors-y". When inside, you'll likely find them drawing, playing video games, and watching scary movies. When it’s time to be outside, they enjoy taking long walks, biking, and swimming. They have also tried basketball and track.

Despite their proclaimed love of indoor life, Mari also thinks it would be fun to live in the country or on a farm where they could wander outside, look out for animals, and contribute to family chores. Mari enjoys being helpful to the adults in their life.

Mari does well with one-on-one time and attention from caregivers. They appreciate when adults are inclusive and open with them, and do best with clear expectations, stability, and routines they can count on.

Currently in the 8th grade, Mari does well in their classes with a little support, and enjoys the social aspect of school very much. They are currently working hard at improving their math and science skills. A family who can provide structure and continue to advocate for Mari’s education will be a great fit as Mari transitions into high school.

As far as being adopted, Mari is excited to find the perfect adoptive family. Their team is looking to hear from families where Mari could be the only child, which is their preference. However, they also feel that Mari could do well in a family with siblings who were eager to welcome a new family member. Mari has expressed interest in finding a family that will accept them for who they are.

If you can see Mari in your family, please reach out! Mari’s team is excited to hear from families who can provide this amazing kid the love and support they deserve!

Could you see Mari as part of your family?
